The President of Ecuador Welcomes Patricia Pérez to Talk about Peace as a Tool to Fight AIDS

President Rafael Correa welcomed the president of the More Peace Less AIDS Foundation this morning in Quito, Ecuador after the traditional changing of the guards at Government Palace.


Quito, April 8th- President Rafael Correa welcomed Patricia Pérez, president of the More Peace Less AIDS Foundation this morning in Quito, Ecuador after the traditional changing of the guards at Government Palace. She spoke to him briefly about the programs that the Foundation is bringing forth in the Americas in regards to peace, leadership, women’s rights and AIDS.

The Ecuadorian president was interested in the projects that Pérez presented and as a result, appointed government officials to maintain the relationship with the More Peace Less AIDS Foundation so as to take further action to promote peace as a tool to fight AIDS in the region.

In a statement to the Ecuadorian press, Patricia Pérez stated that: “President Correa was very interested by my proposal and agreed that it is essential to coordinate actions between regional leaders and peace activists so as to overcome AIDS. I am leaving Quito with great hope for the future of our partnership and by our pledge to work together to fix this serious problem for the Americas and promote peace as a tool to stop the advance of HIV”.
